The Guardians' Line Firefighter Hazard Tape

    What Is It?

The Guardians' Line firefighter hazard tape is a specialized warning tape that is used to identify hazards specific to firefighters.

    Why Is It Important?

    • For decades, firefighters have been misusing yellow "Fire Line-Do Not Cross" fire scene tape.
    • Firefighters have become complacent to standard yellow fire scene tape and tend to walk past it without regard to what may be behind it.
    • Many fire departments do not carry items or equipment to identify or create "NO-ENTRY" zones in compliance with NFPA or OSHA.
    • Structural collapse accounted for nearly 50% of non-medical fireground deaths. (NFPA, 2016)

    What Makes It Different?

    • The Guardians' Line firefighter hazard tape has an NFPA and OSHA-compliant red/white chevron design which indicates a "NO ENTRY" zone.
    • This barrier tape is constructed of durable polyethylene and is weather-resistant.
    • Plain-English lettering displays "FIREFIGHTER HAZARD-DO NOT ENTER"
    • This leaves no doubt as to the type or severity of danger that exists.

    How Is It Used?

The Guardians' Line firefighter hazard tape is applied in the same manner as traditional yellow fire scene tape.
